HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE: As an Engineering Co-op, you will support the Manufacturing shop floor as well as the Upfit Centers’ processes. You may have a significant level of interaction and activity working with internal customers across different work areas. Some of the responsibilities you may have or assist with:

  • Assist in conducting time observations for baseline analysis and benchmarking, and to assist in identifying waste in our manufacturing processes
  • Assists department manager in the planning activities for production layout and process flow
  • Reports findings regarding production flow deficiencies with layout, machines, material handling, labor, etc
  • Assists in the Bill of Material process flow and in maintenance of routings through Engineering Change Request (ECR) process
  • Participating in Kaizen events to realize rapid improvement in manufacturing processes
  • Helping with fixture development to improve assembly process – focusing on cycle time reduction and cost savings.
  • Learning and developing standard work documentation on standard products
  • Project work, i.e., fixturing, work standards documentation

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:

  • Problem analysis and resolution ability
  • Technological skills required with knowledge of the company’s operating software, as well as Microsoft products, including Excel and Word
  • Organizational, detail, and follow-up skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong team player
  • College student with expectation for continuous learning, both on the job and externally
